Local SEO
Get found by more Consumers

Search Engines are Directional advertising.  Consumers come here searching for products and services.  If your brand isn’t an option on search engines…….. you’re never even considered an option by the Consumer.

Book A Call

What is it

Search, Google’s Map Pack

Google Business Profiles are near the top of the page on a Search Engine Results Page.  The businesses in this area of Google get about 80% of calls when Consumers are searching.  90%+ of Consumers are searching via a mobile phone.

Not being an option is no longer an option if businesses want to get ahead with the growth of AI.

Local SEO refers to Google Maps ranking as well as organic rankings for a given geography.  Local businesses that don’t serve the rest of the country don’t need to have good rankings in any other geography besides the one they do business in.

Having smart strategies saves money, drives business, produces tangible results and shows in the business’s bottom line.

In detail

Consumers have needs, be where they’re searching when they search.

There are multiple keywords that describe a business’s products or services.  In a perfect world a business would rank well for all of the services they provide.  Unfortunately, it isn’t that easy!  It takes effort, time, reviews and the ability to hit on all 300 of Google’s signals to rank well.  Our approach is white hat so we don’t risk our clients’ reputation.  We stay out of Google’s penalty box.

3 Pack receives 126% More

The top 3 listings in Google’s Map Pack get 126% more traffic, and 93% more actions. Calls, website visits, direction requests.

5 Stars shine, Reputation is key

It’s no surprise, businesses with good reviews earn more.  Businesses with 5 stars in the 3-Pack receive 69% of the attention of the Consumer.

We’ve made BIG impacts in 90 days!

Not every client’s results are the same, neither are their strategies and business goals.  In some cases we’ve increased rankings very quickly which resulted in increased revenue and new territories for our clients.  Our strategies include doing everything by the book (white hat) so that we don’t risk our client’s business being banned from Google.  For this reason we ride the tides of Google’s algorithms which we have no control over.  Over time our strategies have been proven effective and continue to deliver results for our clients.

What role does SEO play in local marketing?

There’s no magic pill for marketing, traditionally the brands that spread their budget among different media tend to do better.

Local SEO is a crucial part of “digital media” in today’s world as traditional media doesn’t work like it used to.  Especially due to the fact that Consumers are all over the place in the digital world.  They’re on search engines, streaming TV, Connected TV, Over The Top devices such as Firesticks.  The digital world is fragmented.

The one piece of media that doesn’t change is directional advertising.  Search is directional as Consumers come to these search engines searching for services and products.  If a brand isn’t there, the Consumer never considers them as a choice.

Brands can become a choice by optimizing their website as well as appealing to the 300 signals Google analyzes when choosing which websites will be on the first page for a specific keyword search.

There are many pieces to SEO that fit together like a puzzle but are also building blocks as you can’t do certain aspects unless you follow an order.

There is on-page SEO, off-page SEO, Technical SEO which each have their own sets of tasks.  Having articles in local publications and on the local TV and news station websites is an example of “digital PR.”  These articles typically have a link to the local business’s site which is called a backlink.  If the brand has Social accounts, a Google Business Listing, Reviews, and a good local online presence, the brand can become more prominent in Google searches naturally as Google recognizes them as trusted source for what they do.

For this, the brand will get higher rankings on Google’s SERPs.  Over time this equates to more and more business for the brand.  They have a larger audience and as that online audience grows, so do their reviews and reputation.

And the cycle continues!  Learn more here on what Google thinks

There is a plethora of software available to measure website analytics as well as Consumer behavior on a website.

In most cases our services utilize Google Search Console and Google Analytics which are both free services offered in Google’s suite of products.

Google Search Console is used to report on metrics such as website traffic (visitors), impressions (times the website was listed in a SERP), top queries (what keywords the site is getting impression for), top pages ( the pages on the site that are getting the most traffic).  There are features to compare month over month, YoY and more.

Google Analytics is a little more granular in the aspect that it reports on Users, New Users, Returning Users, Engagement, Goals (click to call, form fills), Events (e newsletter sign ups) and more.

There are other website analysis tools along the line of User Experience (UX) where web developers and marketers can see where Consumers click on a website, where their eyes are fixed, what content brings the most visitors or web pages, etc.  With this data the site can be optimized for a better UX and more sales in some cases.

Local SEO ranking factors come down to this.

  • Google Business Profile
  • Citations
  •   Keywords in Google Business title
  • Reviews
  • Brand signals
  • Backlinks
  • Behavioral signals
  • Link Building
  • NAP consistency, Name, address, Phone
  • Proximity
  • Relevance
  • Authority of inbound links.
  • Links
  • Schema markup
  • Mobile optimized

These are just to name a few.  Link building can be tricky as you want to have relevant links but also links that have high Domain and Page Authority scores.

Domain and Page Authority scores are given by search engines to determine which sites will rank on the first page  in the first few positions.

Besides SEO there are a many other ways to drive traffic to a website. Here’s a short list.

  • Paid search ads
  • Paid Social ads
  • Display ads
  • OTT/CTV ads
  • Digital or static billboards
  • Social media posts
  • Business listings
  • Email marketing
  • Podcasts

Each of these are effective but will vary depending on budget and strategy.  Not all forms of media are right for every brand.  A brand can’t be everything to everyone neither should its online strategy.
